Abducted Catholic Sisters Regain Freedom In Imo

The four Catholic nuns who were abducted on August 21 along the Okigwe-Umulolo community in Imo state are now free.

According to an earlier account from LIB, the sisters—Joseph Nwodo, Christabel Echemazu, Liberata Mbamalu, and Benita Agu—were abducted on en route to morning mass.

The Jesus Sisters On Tuesday, August 23, the Saviour (Generalate) confirmed they had regained their freedom in a statement that was signed by Sr. Zita Ihedoro, the Generalate’s Secretary-General.

It read;

“With hearts full of joy, the sisters of Jesus the Saviour wish to announce the unconditional and safe release of four of our sisters who were abducted around the Okigwe-Umulolo area on August 21, 2022.

“Today is a memorable day for us, therefore, we wish to share this joy with all men and women of goodwill who in one way or the other have contributed to the quick and safe release of our dear sisters.
