This was accomplished thanks to the efforts of former St. John’s Grammar School students who recently purchased a transformer to bring electricity back to their alma institution.

The community became aware of the old students’ proposal to buy a transformer, and a three-person committee was formed to ask the alumni executive committee for assistance.

When Dr. Festus Oshoba, the alumni president, informed them that the previous students had consented to share the usage of the transformer with them, they were delighted with their approach.

However, the community, according to the Baale of Oke-Atan, Chief Sikiru Okunrintirin, still had to raise N1.3 million to purchase the accessories to distribute the energy from the transformer into their homes.
