Egbin Power Plc. Lagos is one of the most significant additions to the Nigerian electricity industry. It was constructed to meet the ever-increasing demand for electricity in Lagos and its environs, and is commonly regarded as the largest single power station in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Following the nation’s privatization initiative, Sahara’s power division, Sahara Power Group, and various subsidiaries acquired the 1320 MW Egbin Power Plant. We intend to deploy at least 5,000 MW of electricity generation within the next five years.

JOB TITLE: Plant Safety Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION || Plant Safety Officer At Egbin Power Plc
- Ensure Implementation of QHSE requirements in all jobs and situations around Business Generating Centre (BGC).

RESPONSIBILITIES || Plant Safety Officer At Egbin Power Plc
- To carry out daily safety inspection tours of the two engines covered under BGC, record findings and follow up with Plant HSE Lead for closure
- Maintain an incident log of all incidents minor or major within the area and fashion out mitigative measures.
- Be involved in all incident investigations involving BGC and report UAUCs arising from this area.
- Also, involved with induction trainings, toolbox talks, confined space works and general permit requirements for the area of responsibility
- Ensure the implementation of QHSE contractual requirements by all contractors performing jobs around the BGC.
- Provide weekly hazard status report of the assets, indicating the extent or effectiveness of closeout actions.
- Carry out related duties as shall be assigned from time to time by The Head QHSE or Plant HSE Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS || Plant Safety Officer At Egbin Power Plc
- Prospective candidate must possess B.Engr., B.Sc or HND in Engineering from a recognized University or Polytechnic.
- Must have between 3 – 5 years cognate experience
- ISPON level 3 and NEBOSH IGC is a must for this role
- Membership of professional bodies like ISPON, IOSH, WSO is an added advantage
- Operations and maintenance or other engineering exposure is an added advantage
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, hazards identification, job hazard Analysis
- Ability to work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team.
