Court Inspector Shot By kidnappers Dies In Imo

Odera Onumajulu, an Imo State court inspector who was shot by her kidnappers, has died.

Onumajulu, who was abducted and shot in Owerri on May 22, passed away on Wednesday.

The victim worked as a Customary Court Inspector up to her death. After a month of efforts by medical staff to save her life, she passed away on Wednesday night.

The gunmen who kidnapped her in front of her house shot her before letting her go.

The Secretary of the NBA, Owerri branch, Chinedu Agu, said,

“the deceased lawyer died on Wednesday after she suffered a gunshot injury from dare-devil kidnappers who abducted her on May 22 in front of her house.

“Before the ugly incident, Onumajulu was a Customary Court Inspector attached to the Customary Court of Appeal (CCA) and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016.

“It is very sad how another colleague has become a victim of the ravaging insecurity in Imo.

“We extend our condolences to both her family and extended members of the family.”
