Duro Onabule, Veteran Journalist, Dies At Age 83

Duro Onabule, a seasoned reporter and former chief press secretary to ex-military president Ibrahim Babangida, has passed away.

The former presidential spokesman passed away on Tuesday at the age of 83. His cause of death is unknown as of the time of this article.

On September 27, 1939, the journalist was born in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. He went to CMS Grammar School and the London School of Journalism.

He worked as a reporter for the Daily Express in 1961 before he joined the Daily Sketch and returned to Daily Express.

In 1969, he served as the London correspondent of the Express. In the mid-1970s, he worked for the Daily Times, rising to become a deputy editor.
