CAREER/NOTABLE WORKS

Many Nigerians will remember Mr. Nzeribe for his part in sabotaging Nigeria’s general elections in 1993, which M.K.O. Abiola, then a presidential contender, won.

His Association for a Better Nigeria (ABN) obtained a contentious court ruling that the military administration used to nullify the election, which was widely regarded as the most fair in Nigeria. Many people believe he was sponsored by the military administration.

On the Peoples Democratic Party’s platform, he returned to the Senate in May 1999 and served until May 2007.

Mr Nzeribe was then suspended indefinitely by Nigeria’s then-Senate President, Anyim Pius, now a presidential candidate, following a N22 million fraud allegation.
