1. How to Unsend a Sent Text Messages on iPhone (15 Minutes Timeline)
Follow these steps to unsend that extremely cringe text. You’ll need to do this within 15 minutes of sending it.

In the Messages app, find the conversation and the text you want to unsend. Long press it.

In the pop-out menu, tap Undo Send.

The text is removed from the conversation and replaced by a message stating that you unsent a message.
Any notifications that showed a preview of the unsent text are likewise deleted during this process. Therefore, the recipient won’t know what you sent if they didn’t see the message or its preview.

2. How to Edit A Sent/Delivered Text Message On iPhone
If you Want to make changes to a text message but don’t want to send it again? After sending it, you have 15 minutes to make changes. What you should do is:

In the Messages app, find the conversation and the text you want to unsend. Long press it.

In the pop-out menu, tap Edit.

The text appears in the text-entry area. Make the changes you want.

Tap the blue checkmark and the edited text will be sent.
Edited texts show an “edited” notification just beneath them.

How Many Limits To Unsending & Editing Messages
There are four essential things to know about unsending and editing text messages on an iPhone:
- Only if both you and the recipient are using the iPhone’s Messages app can you send something back or change it. These don’t function in other texting apps, on Android, or on any other platform (only blue bubbles!).
- You must be running iOS 16 or higher.
- Additionally, your recipient must be using iOS 16 or later. If they aren’t, you can alter or cancel the text on your phone, but they will still see the original.
- You can only edit or unsend for the first 15 minutes after you send the text. After 15 minutes, these options are no longer available.
