How To Get UK Study Visa For International Students (2022)

As the year 2021 comes to an end, it’s never too early to start taking steps towards your dream of schooling abroad. This page contains the requirements and procedures for making that a reality. Especially for those interested in schooling in the UK.

The Tier 4 scoring system includes two categories of learners: Tier 4 student (general) and Tier 4 (Child) students.

The Tier 4 (General) category is for students coming to the UK for higher education and the applicant must be at least 16, while the Tier 4 (Child) category is for children between the ages of 4 and 15 coming to the UK for their education.

Children between the ages of 4 and 15 can only attend independent fee-paying schools.

Completed student visa application form.

  • Acceptance letter for the course. Your approved education provider will provide you with a letter of acceptance (CAS) and a visa letter, which are formal and unconditional offers of place for the course of study. The visa letter must be issued no later than six months prior to the submission of the application, as applications, where visa letters are older than six months, will be refused.
  • The applicant must meet all the requirements of the immigration rules.
  • Proof of Funding – The money you need to present will cover the cost of your first year of study and living expenses for up to nine months, with proof that you have held the money for at least 28 days. The amount you will need depends on whether you will be studying in London or outside London and the end of this 28-day period should not be more than a month before your application date.
    You must present the following amount of money to cover the basic living expenses (excluding tuition fees) for up to nine months: £1,334 per month if you live in London £1,023 per month if you live outside London.
  • Receiving confirmation of payment of visa fees and Payslips
  • Original markings / preliminary certificates
  • Exam protocols such as TOEFL, GMAT, IELTS, etc.

How To Apply For A UK Student Visa 2022

 

There are several steps to apply for British student visa applications. Visa applications are processed within three weeks of submitting a completed application.

Step 1 

 

Check If You Meet The Requirements:

 You must be able to show that you have a confirmed place at the school, university or college where you are going to study. This is referred to as a Training Confirmation (CAS). And enough money (also known as “service or facilities”) to cover the cost of the course and the cost of living in the UK.

Step 2 

 

Get Your Required UK Student Visa Documents Ready: 

Documents are very important in terms of obtaining a UK student visa

  • Detailed visa application form (mostly online)
  • Approved invitation letter if sponsored by a friend or family member
  • One passport photo meeting visa fee requirements
  • Valid passport with page blank on both sides
  • Proof of finance (e.g. original bank statement that is no older than 3 months)
  • Confirmation of accommodation and booking of air tickets
  • Original marriage certificate if you are travelling with your spouse
  • Birth certificates for your children if you are travelling together
  • Recent utility bills
  • Extract from your university in the country if you are going to apply for a master’s degree.

If you are travelling on business, you will need to attach: letter of invitation/confirmation of training/confirmation of the conference; and full information for an authorized representative from your company and their contact details.

Note: A stable income of around £4,000 and above is considered a safe amount. Anything less and the embassy might find it hard to believe that you will return. You can also attach other accompanying documents to enhance your application.

 

Step 3

 

Apply Online

You will need to register and create an account on the Official UK Visa Sign website. By completing the online application, you will receive an email with your application number.

You will need to print and sign the completed form. You must use the online appointment calendar to make an appointment at the Visa Application Center.

Step 4 

Pay registration fee

: You can pay the visa fee either through;

  • Payment at Standard Chartered Bank. The bank will issue a bill on-demand in favor of the “British High Commission”.
  • Demand a bill of exchange at a nationalized or foreign bank. The draft requirement should be in favor of the British High Commission. Bank charges for this service will vary.
  • Payment at the Visa Application Center when applying for a visa.
  • Pay online with Visa or MasterCard Credit or Debit Card.

Step 5 

Visit the Visa Application Center on The Appointed Date:

You must make an appointment and attend an appointment at the Visa Application Center to submit your application, face photo and fingerprints.

Addicted: The wife or children receive a dependent visa for the same duration as the main applicant, although this is applicable for the Master’s degree application only Students cannot bring dependants to the UK.

If you have a student visa, your dependents apply as Migrant Points Dependents and each dependent must complete a separate application form and pay a separate fee.

Along with your own maintenance funds, you must show an additional £ 600 per dependent for each month you apply for up to 9 months of maintenance funds.

You can use the scholarship to help support your dependents, but the letter of the scholarship must state that the funds are also for your dependents.

Additional Information for UK Student Visa 2022

You do not get an after-work visa along with a student visa, so if you want to work there after your studies, you need to apply for a Level 2 visa (designed for highly skilled workers). You need to apply for a work visa separately.

But if you are enrolled in an undergraduate program or higher at a UK college that is listed on both the official UKBA Sponsors List and the Recognized Authorities list, you are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week and work full time during vacations or summer holidays.

Your spouse can work in the UK if the leave is longer than 12 months. If your visa was issued for less than 12 months or you are participating in a course of study below the degree level, your spouse will not be allowed to work in the UK.
