JAMB Releases UTME Cut-Off Mark, Admission Ends Dec 31

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board set December 31, 2022, as the application deadline for the class of 2022 on Thursday.

As the board also announced, A’Level scores from the National Business and Technical Education Board would no longer be accepted for Direct Entry applicants.

These were made public during the board’s Abuja 2022 policy meeting.

The Minister of Education has approved that the NABTEB A’Level GCE will no longer be recognized as a qualification for Direct Entry as of 2022, according to JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede. However, everyone who acquired it before this date will be able to make use of it.

“For the cut-off, 140 have been approved as the minimum benchmark for admissions in universities; 120 for polytechnics and 100 for colleges of education. The deadline for the 2022 admissions has been agreed to be December 31, 2022.”

While giving further statistics of the 2022 examination, Oloyede noted that 378,639 scored above 200; a total of 520,596 candidates scored 190 and above; 704,991 scored 180 and above; 934,103 scored 170 and above; 1,192,057 scored 160 and above.

According to him, Adebayo Eyimofe, an Ekiti State indigene who sat for his examination in Abuja, scored 362 marks, the highest mark in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

Eyimofeo was followed by Ugwu Chikelu, an indigene of Enugu State, who scored 359.

Other high scorers include Igbalaye Ebunoluwa -357; Emmanuel Oluwanifemi -357; Ozumba Samuel -357; Olumide-Attah Ayomide -355; Lawal Olaoluwa -355; Dokun Jubril -354; Amaku Anthony -354 and Aghulor Divine -353.
