On Saturday, August 27, 2022, The National Association of Nigerian Students will hold elections for a number of leadership positions, according to The PUNCH.

This information was provided in a conversation with our correspondent on Wednesday in Abuja by the coordinator of South-West Zone D, Adegboye Emmanuel.
Saturday will see the polls, Olatunji told The PUNCH.

According to The PUNCH, Sunday Ashefon, the next president, was chosen on December 4, 2020, at the old parade ground in Abuja, during the national convention.

Asefon, a civil servant with the Ekiti State Government, got 155 votes to defeat his closest rival, Olushola Oladoja, who scored 100 votes.

The 45-year-old, reported to be a student of Ekiti State University, replaced Bamidele Akpan.

Despite the fact that the tenure of elective positions in the association was meant to last for one year, The PUNCH reports that elections were not conducted.
