Prolonged ASUU Strike Shows Lack Of Compassion- Bukola Saraki

Dr. Bukola Saraki, a former president of the senate, claimed that the Academic Staff Union of Universities and other unions’ protracted strike demonstrates the federal government’s lack of concern for Nigerians. In response to queries from reporters in Ilorin, Kwara State, Saraki also noted the importance of the 2023 elections for the nation and asked voters to treat them seriously.

ASUU has been on strike since February 14, 2022, while other related unions have also embarked on industrial actions to press for an improved condition of service as well as an improvement in the education system in the country

The former Kwara State governor said, “There is no way I will be part of the government as Senate President and ASUU and other unions in the Universities will go on strike for months.

“It is the lack of compassion and dedication. It is a matter that the government should lock itself up in a room and not come out until the matter is resolved and I have not seen that dedication. I don’t know whether you have seen it.
