Roger Federer, a fellow tennis great who announced his retirement one month after Serena Williams did, has received praise from Serena Williams.

Federer made his retirement from tennis official on Thursday, September 15, at the age of 41. His final match will be at the Laver Cup in London, which will take place at the O2 Arena the following weekend.
This month, Serena also put an end to her career by competing in her final singles match at the US Open.
Williams paid respect to her fellow winner as two of tennis’ brightest names in both the men’s and women’s games announced their retirement.

Taking to Instagram, Serena wrote: “I wanted to find the perfect way to say this, as you so eloquently put this game to rest – perfectly done, just like your career.
