The PlayStation 5’s long-awaited Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) compatibility will begin trickling out globally this week. After more than a year since the PS5 was released, the capability that is accessible on Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Series S finally comes to the PS5.

More PS5 games are likely to receive the updates soon, and some future games may have VRR support right out of the gate. If the PS5 is connected to a compatible HDMI 2.1 VRR TV or PC monitor after receiving the VRR update, the capability will be enabled automatically for supported titles. Players who do not wish to use the feature can disable it in the PS5’s system settings under “Screen and Video.”
